My Therapeutic Toolbox
Here to help: Supporting you with tools tailored to your needs.
Internal Family Systems
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is an evidence-based psychotherapy model that acknowledges that every person's personality is comprised of different parts having unique functions or jobs in your internal system. IFS asserts that in addition to our parts, we all have a compassionate Self at the seat of our consciousness. Together we can gently develop a direct relationship between your Self and the parts of you that are well-intentioned but working in extreme ways causing you to feel stuck.
Eye Movement Desensitization
and Reprocessing
EMDR is a psychotherapy technique designed to relieve the distress associated with disturbing memories. The assumption is that past disturbing experiences continue to cause distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they contain all the same emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience. EMDR therapy utilizes bilateral stimulation such as eye movements, taps, or sounds to stimulate the brain's natural processing and help the individual reprocess disturbing memories and emotions in a safe and controlled way.
Attachment Theory
Attachment Theory is a psychological framework that explains how early relationships with caregivers shape our emotional development and future relationships. I use Attachment Theory to explore their attachment patterns, gaining insight to how these patterns impact their current relationships and emotional well-being and developing strategies for creating more secure and fulfilling connections.
Somatic Therapy
Somatic Therapy also known as body psychotherapy, is a type of counseling that uses Mind-Body techniques to help people heal from painful experiences. Since the mind and body are closely connected, our thoughts, emotions, and sensations influence each other.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy
DBT is a treatment that helps people learn skills to manage emotions, cope with challenges, and improve relationships. DBT is based on mindfulness and behavioral therapy, and is derived from cognitive behavioral therapy.
